On Sunday we walked part of spectacular Rokka gorge.
We took the small steep path from the village of Rokka and descended into the gorge.
Then we walked uphill, in the dry bed.
The gorge is very narrow in parts, with plenty of vegetation and shade. We took it easy and walked a total of about two hours.
We had to climb over a few boulders, but overall this is a relatively easy way to experience a gorge near Kissamos in West Crete without committing a full day and 5-6 hours of walking to it.
We finished the walk with drinks and a snack at Biolea’s cafe, by the organic olive press in the village of Astrikas. A good day out in the Cretan nature.
