An easy E-bike ride into green Theriso gorge on paved, quiet roads along the river through the lush woods.

Theriso was also the site of the movement that, at the turn of the 20th century, led to Crete joining the modern state of Greece.
In the village square we will see the statue of Venizelos, one of the local political leaders who went on to become Prime Minister of Greece for many years in the first half of the last century.

Longer version: After a break in Theriso, we will keep climbing the mountains and find spectacular views over the plain around Chania. We will ride through the mountain villages among the conifer forests and descend back to town along a spectacular route.
