We kayaked into the heart of Chania old town

Start from Agioi Apostoli, the many sheltered coves and refuge of sportspeople of Chania.
Visit shallow rocky reefs and Lazareta island on the way, where we stop for a swim.
Chania Lighthouse stands stout, comes in sight from a good distance.
The pastel coloured Venetian houses in the harbour. Gently paddling around.
The bright kayaks attract looks, a break in the placid sea surface. We take pictures and are the subject of many. Onlookers look on.
We complete the circle around the harbour, skim by the marina, the Arsenale, boats moored, people out walking.
Return to the sandy golden beach with a gentle tailbreeze.
Warm coastline, sun kissed day around Chania.
