Ride an E-bike on this magical tour of West Crete
A quiet, easy alternative to Balos and Elafonissi in mid-summer, away from the huge crowds
Good for those who like quiet but paved roads and breathtaking sea views
We start from Kissamos town and find our way inside a hidden side valley, among thick olive groves on both sides.
We climb up towards the foothills of the Manna mountain, humming to ourselves “Summertime, and the climbin’ is easy”.
Along the way, we pass some old, traditional Cretan villages.
After a while, we join the coastal road and discover the breathtaking views on secluded coves.
We pedal high above the sea for a while, then we descend to the fishing seaside village of Sfinari. We have a break by the shore, on the pebbly beach, where freshly fished octopi hang by the local tavernas.
We reverse course and climb up, now looking North towards Falasarna and the steep rocky cliffs.
Once we reach the top, we start going down towards Kissamos bay, but we take a detour through tiny villages and side country roads.
We cycle by many, many olive groves and some sandy coves, before we pass the harbour and we return to Kissamos town.
