E-Bike Tour: Kissamos to Elafonissi

A full day E-bike riding along the West Coast of Crete, on quiet roads, by rugged coastline, secluded coves, to arrive at Elafonissi of the pink sand lagoon where we will have time to snorkel in the crystal clear water.

Good for those who love scenic, quiet coastal roads.

We set off from Kissamos along quiet roads in hidden valleys. We climb steadily until we join the coastal road, where the views open to the West. From here the road follows the winding West coast of Crete. We admire the spectacular views and enjoy the sounds of nature.
We pass the small seaside village of Sfinari, then we go up again. We admire vistas of curved bays and rocky cliffs. We say hello to the goats freely roaming the fields and the roads too!
We take a turn and descend again towards the sea, a very small road with spectacular views on a remote bay. We stay slightly higher than the coast for a while. Low phrygana bushes are more and more prevalent now.
We descend to sea level and ride right by the sea. We find and open bay with extremely clear water.
The air smells of South now. We join a wider road, pass the last houses and the lagoon of Elafonissi opens up before our eyes.
We park our bikes and go make sure that the turquoise waters are real. We can take a refreshing swim in the clear sea, explore underwater with a snorkel and have a drink and a snack, then sit in the shade of a juniper tree before taking a lift back to Kissamos.
